Mental Health First Aid Training

About 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training will teach you practical skills to support someone with a mental health problem. Make a real difference at work and in your personal life.

The 12-hour face-to-face course for adults (18-years+).
Learn how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. This course provides a 3-year accreditation on successful completion of an online, competency based quiz.

Mental health problems covered:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety problems

  • Psychosis

  • Substance use problems

Mental health crises covered:

  • Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

  • Non-suicidal self-injury

  • Panic attacks

  • Traumatic events

  • Severe psychotic states

  • Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use

  • Aggressive behaviours.
